Instead, I suggest that you can run and debug your service in Visual Studio simply by wrapping the service up in a test console application. I pointed out that recompiling and installing your Windows Service following each change is a really inefficient way to develop and test a service. Last year I wrote a post on Testing Windows Services. (instance = GetInjector()) Private static IWindsorContainer instance Private static readonly object InstanceLock = new object() The following shows how to do this if you’re using Castle Windsor: If you’re using dependency injection, you should wire up the dependency injector to return your ILog instance. Note that the LogManager returns an object implementing the ILog interface. Log.Debug("Test console application started") ![]() Var log = LogManager.GetLogger(typeof(Program)) Then it’s just a case of using the logger: This tells Log4Net to look in the default configuration file for the Log4Net configuration settings, but you can also tell Log4Net to look in another custom configuration file using the overloads available to the XmlConfigurator, although I prefer to keep all configuration in a single file. The most obvious place for this is the AssemblyInfo.cs file. In order to tell Log4Net to pick your configuration, you need to add the following to your application: It is also possible to write your own appender if you want to do something not already built it to Log4Net. It’s worth taking a look at the Log4Net documentation to find out about the different types of logging available. In this case, a new log file is started each time the current log file gets to 5000KB. It’s called rolling because it starts a new log file at triggered intervals, allowing you to delete historical log files when you’ve finished with them. This example simply adds a rolling log file. You’ll need to add a configuration file to tell Log4Net how you want it to log. The easiest way to add the correct references is via NuGet, where it is simply listed as log4net. The first step is create your console application and add references to Log4Net. The following post explains how to get Log4Net working in a. 12/16/2023 0 Comments Kodi 19.3 install![]()
12/16/2023 0 Comments California breweries eighties![]() However, lager was a beer type brewed with bottom fermenting yeast which performed best at low temperatures. In 1875, the Boca Brewery near Truckee produced California’s first lager. The vast majority of Californian breweries were set up by German speaking immigrants and, in the late 19th century, they wholeheartedly embraced the new lager beer type which, having been first brewed in the European town of Pilsen in 1842, was fast capturing the imagination of American beer drinkers. By the late 1880s, the recipes for beers brewed as far away as Britain make mention of “California hops.” In and around Sacramento, Emil Clemens Horst owned the largest hop acreage in the world and in 1909 was responsible for inventing the hop separator, a mechanical instrument that eased the process of hop-picking. Hops were first introduced into California in 1854 and, until Prohibition, Sonoma County was a major hops supplier to both California and beyond. ![]() Between 1890 and Prohibition, the Buffalo Brewing Company in Sacramento was the largest brewery west of the Mississippi.Ĭalifornian breweries could call upon a wealth of local brewing ingredients. ![]() Californian breweries that opened in the 1850s included the Bavarian Brewery, the Albany Brewery, the American Railroad Brewery, the Union Brewing Company, John Weiland Brewery and, of course, the Pacific Brewing Company which is now known as the Anchor Brewery Company. The first Sacramento brewery was set up in 1859 by Hilbert & Borchers while San Jose’s first brewery was the Eagle Brewery. By 1860 that number had increased to more than 800 saloons supplied by more than two dozen breweries while San Diego, Sacramento, and Los Angeles, bolstered by the completion of a railroad in the 1870s, also became home to blossoming beer scenes. San Francisco was rapidly growing from a small settlement into a busy boom town and panning for gold was seriously thirsty work.īeer was the panner’s pick-me-up and by 1852, San Francisco boasted more than 350 bars and pubs serving a population of little over 36,000. It was the height of the Gold Rush and more than 300,000 entrepreneurial “49ers” had arrived in California in search of shiny flecks of fortune. It wasn’t until 1849, a year before California was officially an American state, that Californians embarked on their first ale-making endeavors with the Adam Schuppert Brewery opening its doors on the corner of Stockton and Jackson streets in San Francisco.ġ849 was a very good time to open a brewery. It may have begun brewing a lot later than other states but, given its influence on the contemporary craft brewing scene, it has more than made up for lost time and currently boasts some of the nation’s most innovative breweries and beers.Ĭalifornia began brewing nearly 250 years after America’s first brewery was formed in Manhattan in 1612. Bake it for 45 minutes to an hour, until the egg is baked through and the top is browned. Remove the plastic wrap from the baking dish and put it on the middle rack of your oven. The next day, once the ingredients have all become friendly in the fridge, it's time to bake! Heat your oven to 350 F. Cover the baking dish in plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for 8 hours (or overnight). Pour this over the ingredients in the baking dish, then top with the other half of cheese. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and another pinch of salt. Mix the milk and eggs, make sure to whisk well. Then, add half of the cubed or grated Gruyère cheese in one even line on top of the vegetables. Next, layer bread and ham and top with the remainder of the cheese. Now add the onion and mushroom mixture on top of the bread cubes, spreading it as much as you can in one even layer. You'll have extra bread cubes - hang on to them to add them to the top of the dish just before putting it in the oven. Place the bread cubes into the dish so that they cover the bottom of the dish in one layer without overlapping. Prepare the baking dish: I use an 8-inch glass baking dish for this, because I like to see the layers of the Strata and that size dish works well for this quantity of ingredients. 3.Īdd the thyme leaves to the pan, stir and take the pan off the heat to let cool slightly. Let cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently. Once they've been on the heat for around 10-15 minutes, you can add a dollop of salted butter, the sliced mushroom and another pinch of salt and some black pepper, and stir. You're doing good, keep stirring over low heat. 2.Īs you continue to frequently stir the onions, you'll notice them first go transparent, then begin to brown. Keep a close eye on the onions, with frequent stirring. Turn the heat to low, and it'll stay on low for the rest of the time you're caramelizing the onions. Beat eggs, milk, butter, mustard, paprika and salt in large bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Add the sliced onions and a couple pinches of salt, and stir to coat the onions completely in the olive oil. Pour the olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. |
